The medical social worker is increasingly being asked by healthcare providers and insurers to use knowledge of medical and legal issues to navigate the social consequences of making decisions about medical treatment and/or payments for services. The scope of the legal issues that social workers are called upon to address includes several major social policy concerns. These include issues related to fraud and abuse, confidentiality and privacy, the problem of the uninsured, the professional obligation to advocate for indigent clients, and the problem of structural inequities that are created by the existing healthcare delivery system. This article describes the legal issues that are encountered by social workers. The medical social worker is likely to encounter the following types of legal issues in his or her practice: civil rights, state and federal civil rights laws; state and federal anti-discrimination laws; federal and state employment and benefit laws, including disability, unemployment insurance, and worker's compensation laws; state and federal healthcare laws, including Medicare and Medicaid; federal and state professional liability laws; federal and state regulation of health care providers, including fraud and abuse laws; federal and state consumer protection laws; federal and state tax laws; federal and state estate laws, including tax laws, the right of privacy, and the right to healthcare; and the legal issues encountered by an insurer when it pays or refuses to pay for health care services. By offering to social workers this broad overview of the major legal issues they face in their practice, we hope to increase their awareness of the scope of the legal issues they will confront, and provide them with the basic knowledge they need to identify legal questions that arise in their practice and to navigate and resolve them when necessary.Q:
Problem with ANTLR4 compatibility across versions
I've just started working on a small program that uses ANTLR4, and when I upgraded to ANTLR4.6.2, I started having errors like:
